Blood Works is a plain-language guide for talking with a doctor about blood health, medical emergencies, and transfusion, written for patients, families, and clinicians to use together.
Why we built it
Why was Blood Works created?
Many people struggle to understand what’s involved in blood-related decisions, from simple test results to transfusions.
Blood Works bridges the communication gap that can so often exist between patients and their doctors, giving both sides a shared, trustworthy reference to turn to in the moments that matter most.
NON-PROFIT FUNDED
Funded by the Human Touch Media Foundation
Blood Works is funded on a not-for-profit basis by the Human Touch Media Foundation. All authors donated their work to Blood Works: An Owner's Guide. No compensation has been paid to the lead authors or contributors, and all support staff have donated their time and effort in support of patient blood management education.

Then it grows through outreach and translation into more languages.
