Dr Aryeh Shander and Dr Shannon Farmer spoke at the ASPBM 2026 conference held in Thailand, covering practical strategies for optimizing blood health in everyday care — from pregnancy to surgery to chronic conditions.
The conference ran in person in Bangkok and streamed globally with ASPBM’s partners World Anemia Awareness. Over 7.9 million people worldwide viewed the one-hour livestream from the opening day.

Blood Works made an appearance at the SABM annual meeting in Nashville, Tennessee. The program was rich with content reinforcing the clinical importance of Patient Blood Management, in line with the new Global Definition of PBM, which emphasizes optimizing the care of our patients’ own blood as a renewable and vital resource with the goal of improving safety and outcomes.
Presentations from global PBM experts expanded our comprehension of how PBM — an urgent international public health initiative — can be promoted and implemented, with critical social, economic and clinical implications.
